some of the basic supplies of screenprinting, retensionable screens, t square, ink (water based, plastisol, vinyl solvent based) & ink modifiers (retarder, thinner, catalyst), squeegies, emulsion remover, biodegradable ink detergent, screen opener, tape, gloves, spray addhesive, disposable rags (for inks), washable rags (not shown: for non toxic inks).

stickers are also printed on a vacume table. they are printed on vinyl sheets, then set to dry on drying racks (partially visable at the edge of the picture). after they are fully dry they are cut down to size.

all artwork and printing starts in the prepress station. some of the stuff i use alot: photoshop / illustrator (software)(also have corel draw, but don't use it much), color laser printer, thermal cd printer, scanner, digital camera, wide format inkjet printer. too many printers 6.

printing cds with a solvent based ink. respirator is used to protect myself from harmful vapors.

so much work, so little time. catching a quick nap before i have to go back out to the shop.

burning a screen. coated screen is exposed to light, the black parts will wash out, and then any color of ink can be printed in the screen.

4 color 4 station work horse press & flash cure unit in the middle of printing a 3 color job.

ME i have been printing on my own for about 4 years. i worked for 2 years on a web press, and i have worked in a large screen printing shop running a 12 color 14 station automatic press (1.5 years), i have worked in a sign shop printing t shirts, signs, and making banners (1year 3 months), i've worked as a production artist for an apparrel company (3 months). presently i work 29 hours a week for the sign company. i am also taking graphic design courses (as of 1/08)

i've been involved in the underground music scene since 92 when i went to my first show at 16. since then i've done zines, distros, a label, been in social justice collectives, and lots of other shit. i try where possible to limit my use of chemicals, or products that are harmful to my health, the environment, or other people. it's somewhat diffucult, as printing is an industrial process, and some printing methods require the use of some toxic chemicals. if this concerns you let me know and i will let you know which options are more environmentally friendly.

thanks to all the people who have been sending me so much work lately, the volume of orders has forced me to change a few things, but i will do my best to keep this project diy and independant.
